Reading Tracker

The Reading Tracker tracks your progress toward a date-based goal for the entire Bible or parts of it.

List of trackers

Without a tracker, the message reads: No reading tracker. Use + to create one.

Each line displays Goal: {date}. Create or edit a tracker using New Tracker or Edit Tracker:

  • Name (unique among trackers)
  • Color, including Custom Color (Hue, Saturation, Brightness)
  • Start Date and Target Date
  • I’ve met my daily goal when I’ve read… followed by one of two modes:
    • enough to reach my goal by reading every day. — The Daily Portion is what remains to be read, spread out over the days until the Target Date. Any lead or lag from a previous day is not made up: each day has its share of what remains.
    • everything I was supposed to have read up to now (including any behind-schedule or ahead-of-schedule portions). — The Bible is divided into equal portions between the Start Date and the Target Date. The “Daily Portion” is the portion scheduled for today, including any sections that are behind schedule or have already been read ahead of schedule. The Start Date is required.

Delete requires confirmation and removes the tracker and its progress.

In a tracking list

The tab is titled Tracking: {name}. You’ll see the percentage, the books, and the chapters read, broken down into the Old Testament and New Testament. Mark as Read / Mark as Unread update your progress. The Daily Portion and the number of days ahead or behind follow the mode selected when the tracking was created.
