# About

The **About** dialog box provides an overview of the installed version and update checks.

Open it via the application menu (logo, title, or chevron) → **About**.

## Contents

- **About Bible Index** and the **Version {version}** line
- **Check weekly** — enables or disables automatic checks
- **Check for updates** — manual check
- **Licenses** — open-source license texts
- **bibleindex.app** link

When the first weekly check is prompted, the text explains that the check only contacts dl.bibleindex.app and does not send any analytics or identifiers. Respond with **Yes** or **No**.

If an update is available, the app offers to **Visit the download page**. Bible Index does not replace the program files itself; you download and install the new version as usual.
